How we teach
We teach positive, reward based training to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
What we offer
Training classes for puppies (8 weeks - 4 months).
We also offer one:one classes for dogs who find a class setting difficult. Please contact us if this more suits you and your dog.
We offer behavioural consultations with a qualified, certified animal behaviourist for more complex behaviour issues. Please see the page for behaviour modification here.
Class structure
Class length – 1 hour
Class size is small so we can ensure our pups are not overwhelmed and have positive experience with other dogs.
3 weeks to 4 months of age is critical period for puppy socialisation. This is the period puppies should be positively exposed to novel sounds, smells, textures & environments. Positively is the key word here! Negative experiences can impact your puppy confidence and future interactions.
Obedience is only a part of our foundation puppy class. We incorporate exposure to new things as well as creating a bond between pup and owner.
We will also discuss problems you may be experiencing at home such as toilet training, chewing, barking, jumping up, digging & biting and the best ways to deal with them.
The classes are based on a six week curriculum. Lessons will include
- basic obedience
- clicker training
- engagement exercises
- polite interactions with other dogs
- & much more
Cost: R1000 for the 6 week course.
Puppies need to have had at least their first vaccination before class starts and flea/worm control. You will be requested to submit a copy of your vaccination card.
